Col. Jim AmmermanE. H. Jim Ammerman is Director of Chaplaincy Full Gospel Churches,Inc., (CFGC) an endorsing agency for the Armed Forces Chaplaincy. CFGC,representing 7.5 million Spirit-filled American Christians isrecognized by the Pentagon and places ministers into the United StatesMilitary and civilian institutions as chaplains. The home office is inDallas, Tx.

 

Jim retired from the U.S. Army in 1977, a chaplain for 23 years, anda Colonel for the last five. In World War II, he spent 3 1/2 years inNaval Aviation. During his service career, he served as a paratrooperchaplain with the 82nd Airborne Division, 101st Airborne Division andthe Green Berets for five years, making 196 jumps, plus sportparachuting. Jim served with the 1st Cavalry Division twice and withthe 1st Armored Division.

Jim's decorations and awards include: Legion of merit, MeritoriousService Medal (2), Army Commendation Medal (3), Bronze Star, plusService Ribbons from WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

 

His last European assignment was with V Corps in Frankfurt, Germany.Jim supervised 83 chaplains from 14 denominations (overseeing 50,000troops and their dependents). Prior to his retirement, he served asPost Chaplain and Pastor to the Command and General Staff College atFort Leavenworth, Kansas. The school was composed of 1,000 officerstudents selected for training to be the future Colonels and Generals.

Jim and his wife, Charlene, have made many missionary journeys,including two trips around the world. They have alose ministered incommunist countries.

 

Born in Conway, Missouri, July 20, 1925, Jim is a graduate ofBaptist colleges and seminaries, holding both Doctor of Theology andDoctor of Divinity degrees. He became an ordained minister in 1946.

 

With literary credits in several professional journals and religiouspublications, Jim has appeared frequently on radio and television. Heis a much-loved speaker for churches and conventions of alldenominations.

 

His book, After the Storm, which reached #9 on the ChristianBookseller's List, recounts the marvelous ways God protected and aidedour men and women in Desert Shield/Storm. CFGC had 29 chaplains inDesert Storm.

 

Supernatural Events in the Life of an Ordinary Man tells of the mighty works of God in Jim and Charlene's lives and ministry.

Jim started cultivating acquaintance with military personnel ofCentral and South American nations, at their request, over the pastseveral years. He has made many trips to the nations, resulting in aSpanish-speaking Seminary in Caracas, Venezuela, with graduates inpositions as the only non-Catholic Chaplains in South America. Theseminary has expanded to include pastors, and full accreditation is inthe works.

 

The major thrust of Dr. Ammerman's ministry remains that ofendorsing chaplains for the US Military, Federal and State Hospitalsand more.
